How I Have Wished You Were Here

Travelling alone often evokes in me a wistful feeling. I suspect part of it may be because I have seen something interesting or beautiful, but do not have anyone in that moment with whom I may share. And the silence I experience traveling alone may bring an emphasis to or make me more receptive to the beauty of things around me. Sometimes this may be conjoined with a feeling of longing for a particular person or a desire to share something with someone, a remembered person or someone I may meet.

These images represent occasions when I have tried to capture something about a place or thing I was seeing while alone. My hope is that they reflect or capture some intrinsic beauty of the subject and are not just a projection or transference of my own emotions.

My reason for creating the site is so that by processing the images and putting them online for others to view, I may separate my own emotions from them and in doing so share something of aesthetic value. If others experience any emotional reactions to the images, better still.
